Peter Voss: A Different Perspective on Artificial General Intelligence

I have known Peter Voss since the 1990s and have seen him create several AI companies and engage in pioneering AI research. Peter – along with Shane Legg and Ben Goertzel – coined the term “Artificial General Intelligence” (AGI) in 2002. In this discussion, we discuss his history in cryonics and AI, how his neurosymbolic approach to AGI differs from the currently dominant LLM approach, why we need not worry about AI taking over, and how AGI will help us become better people.
